Before you purchase a puppy from any Breeder ask yourself will a Weimaraner fit into your family and work commitments. Wei's are a wonderful breed,but their not the right dog for everyone.Wei's have been selectively bred for over 100yrs to be a companion to their human family and most importantly to work and hunt. Wei's do not deal well when they are left alone for long periods of time.When Wei's are left alone to their own devices they will find something to keep themselves occupied while your not at home.Believe me you probably won't like what has kept them busy all day. This could also lead to anxiety and excessive barking,if you work fulltime this doesn't mean a Wei is not for you. Wei's are an intelligent breed and must have physical and mental stimulation.Wei's require daily exercise.With mental and physical activities they will be happy in the yard. Wei's are strong dogs and need a well fenced secured yard or they may go straight through it.A 6 foot fence won't stop them if they don't want to be there.They can also be quite the excavator and have a hole dug the size of a wheelbarrow and gone in seconds.Wei's will do all these things when they are bored,suffering from anxiety because your not there,wanting exercise or relegated to the backyard and forgotton. Weimaraners grow very quickly,between the time you pick your puppy up and to 6months of age.If you have small children playing and running,you do not want a young Wei running amuck with them (thats when accidents happen). You need to teach them from day 1,that they are not allowed to chase,grab or jump on the children.They are to walk,sit and be gentle in and around the kids. NEVER leave small children to play with any breed of dog without adult supervision. Wei's excel at obedience,tracking,agility and some have gone into endurance.A good obedience club will teach you how to be a leader of the pack which is very important to the Weimaraner.If a Wei feels that you are not a strong leader they will happily fill that position.Obedience will also help to socialize and teach them good manners.

Puppies, Older Puppies & Adult Wei's to approved homes only Ykarumba wants our puppies to be suited to you and you to them,so they are going to their forever homes.If your forever home is not to be,we want to be first contacted and arrangements made for his/her return to Ykarumba.We want to make sure we are placing our puppies into homes that are suited for a Weimaraner.
